Eleanor D. Jones, Chief of Staff

It is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Eleanor is "sun ray, shining light".

“I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).  This most familiar scripture serves as the life motto for Eleanor.  God allowed her journey to begin in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church ministry at birth.  Loving parents thought it wisdom to raise Eleanor and her siblings in a nurturing home and in the atmosphere of church and ministry.  The seed of ministry work began early in life but began to blossom in March 1983 as she was hired by Pastor Harvey Clemons Jr. and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church as a part-time Secretary.   After 33 years, she remains steadfast in her ministry work at Pleasant Hill in the position of Chief of Staff and her commitment to God and ministry goes far beyond her staff responsibilities.

Eleanor is a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School (the mighty Wildcats) and received formal training at Texas Southern University.  She is an accomplished writer, motivational speaker, event planner and songstress (Pleasant Hill Ensemble and Mass Choir).   In 2006, her love for the music ministry led to her participation in the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses (NCGCC) where she currently serves in the Houston Chapter and nationally as a Team Member of the NCGCC Convention Operations Team.  Evidence of her gifts and talents in ministry are usually found in work occurring behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and organized worship experience and cohesiveness among programs and projects of Pleasant Hill Ministries and other affiliations.  Further evidence can be found in her love for God’s people.  She takes much pride in giving of herself to serve others.

She is the mother of two lovely daughters, Adrielle, and Erin, son-in-laws, Rashad and Mike and “G-Mama” to her grandchidlren, Amayah, Rashad Jr (RJ), Ella and Michael III (Tre).

Rev. Michael L. Pickett, Minister of Music

Michael Pickett serves as the Minister of Music at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He is respected amongst his peers as pianist, singer, songwriter, workshop clinician, music transcriber, publisher and graphic designer. His gifts have made room for him and taken him across much of the U.S., to Europe, and Africa. His gospel music compositions and arrangements can be heard on several national recordings, television, and the National Baptist Hymnal.

The Akron Symphony Orchestra has performed several of his pieces, and another was used to minister to the space shuttle crew Columbia on the space station before their tragic accident upon re-entry to earth’s atmosphere. He has been guest clinician for numerous music workshops and his goal was, and continues to be, to elevate the level of the music offering from the mundane to the inspired, from the ordinary to the challenging, and the spiritless to the Spirit-filled.  To contact Michael, email him at michaelpickett@pleasanthillministries.org.

Adrielle D. Palmer, Office Manager/Administrative Assistant

Walking in divine design…
“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11).

It was orchestrated by God that Adrielle would be born into the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church family. Her mother who is a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill instilled in her very early the importance of a relationship with God and honoring God with a serving attitude.   With this in mind and the intent to have an active role in ministry and the flexibility to more family time, Adrielle became Office Manager at Pleasant Hill in 2012. On a constant quest to build a stronger relationship with God and serve His people, ministry has proved to be a marvelous part of the blueprint.

Adrielle is a graduate of Lutheran High North and has completed some college course work at the University of Houston – Downtown. She serves as ministry leader of the Feed The Hungry Ministry and serves as a member of the Social Media Ministry and the Pleasant Hill Young Adults (PHYA).  In 2017 Adrielle became a member and now serves as Secretary of Diversified Perfection Social Club, whose mission is dedicated to helping the homeless, elderly and special needs students. Adrielle also has a love for crafting and do-it-yourself projects.

The love of family is one of life’s greatest blessings and Adrielle has a mighty blessing etched in her plan. She is the proud wife of Rashad Palmer and was gifted with daughters Amayah and Ella and a son Rashad Jr.
