“14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion? 15 Then Esther told them to give this answer to Mordecai, 16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast for me; and neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. I also and my maids will fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law; and if I perish, I perish. 17 So Mordecai went away and did all that Esther had commanded him.”
Who knows, but that you have been called to the kingdom for such a time as this? Friends, I know I constantly comment on the social climate of the world and the times we are in, but that’s because I think it’s important for us as Christians to be aware of our surroundings and to take notice of what’s going on. The atmosphere is one of unrest and uneasiness right now. People don’t feel safe and many people simply don’t know just what to do. This is a very crucial time for Believers and we are all called to make a difference. We are called to lend a hand. And we are all called to be love and the light of the world. So in the time of pervading darkness, will you be bold and allow your light to shine? Queen Esther found herself in a very sticky situation; there was essentially a death threat put on all the Jews of her land and she herself was a Jew. Mordecai presented her with two options, step up and do what you know you need to do or suffer the consequences of your inaction. Friends, I don’t believe Mordecai was just talking to Queen Esther. We are all called, each and every single one of us to do work for God’s Kingdom and it is our choice whether or not we answer. Just like the social climate in Queen Esther’s story, we are too faced with difficult times and even more difficult decisions. But we have to decide what the consequences of our inaction are and if we’re really willing to take that risk? Boldness is in all of us because the Spirit of God is in all of us. What is it that you know God has been asking you to do for quite some time now? Boldness is a gift that we all have as children of God, we just have to tap into it. You are good enough and you are worthy of your calling. Have faith and be bold today.
God we know that You have called us for such a time as this. We know that You have instilled in us a great and distinct purpose for each of us to carry out. You did not make us who we are and put us where we are by mistake. We are here for a reason and You have called us all for the building of Your Kingdom. So God help us to hear, discern and answer Your call. God grant us the boldness to say yes to You and to live out our divine purposes. Thank You God for boldness.
*God is waiting to hear from you, longing to hear your voice. Speak to the Lord today and ask God for the spirit of boldness.*
