"The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring."
In life we are often pulled in many directions. Most, if not all, of us take on multiple roles. Living in these different roles can also lead us down different paths; and then there are times when we even feel lost. It can become increasingly difficult to understand why we are where we are and why we are doing what we are doing. But take heart my friend, for we are not alone. God gives us guidance every day, the question is, are we paying attention to His direction. We are generally quick to take advice from friends, family, co- workers, supervisors and other people. But when it comes to true guidance in life, there is only one Being who has the answer, and that is God. God is our Creator; He created us all uniquely, with a unique design and for a unique purpose. Yes, life can be confusing when you are constantly pulled in a thousand different directions. But a simple way to clear that clutter, is by constantly following one direction, and that’s God’s. God’s guidance will never steer you wrong, it is faithful and it is eternal. Even when we stray away from God’s plan, because we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, we are all equipped with special GPS (God Positioning System) that takes us right back to God’s path for us. Consistently seek God for guidance. God’s Word says those who are guided by the Lord will be like a well- watered garden and like an ever flowing spring. Times when you feel your spring drying up, just ask God for direction and His GPS will get you back on track.
Think about the things and people that lead you in life; is God included in that list? Whose voice do we listen to the most on a daily basis? How can we listen to and receive God’s guidance more? What areas of our lives have we not surrendered to God for direction? What are we still holding onto that we need to let go, give to God, and follow His guidance on?
*Think and pray on how you can be more submissive to God’s guidance and plans for your life. Today, let’s pray for spiritual guidance.*
